Section 5 — Preset/Track Parameters TS-10 Musician’s Manual
16
The second field determines whether the BANK value represents the LSB or MSB of the MIDI
Bank Select controller message. It defaults to LSB (Least Significant Byte), but can be set to MSB
(Most Significant Byte) to accommodate other keyboard manufacturer’s products. It should
always be set to LSB for ENSONIQ products.
The default Bank Select number that appears is usually the number of the internal TS-10 sound
assigned to the track. This number is automatically set whenever a sound is selected from the
Sound Bank pages. Assigning a new sound to a Preset track from Replace Track Sound mode
does not change the Bank Select number automatically, but sequencer tracks will acquire the new
sound’s Bank Select number. When sequencer playback loops back to the beginning of a track,
all Track Bank Select values will be restored to their stored values.
You can set this number to any other legal Bank Select number if you wish to override the default
value. This can be useful in presets and sequencer tracks, which will transmit a MIDI Bank Select
message for every MIDI-enabled track when selected.
Program Changes and Bank Selects in the TS-10
When sounds are assigned to a track from a Sound Bank page, their Program Change number
and Bank Select number are automatically set according to the following scheme:
User RAM programs (BankSet U0) are numbered from 000 to 059; Bank Select is 000 LSB.
User RAM programs (BankSet U1) are also numbered from 000 to 059; Bank Select is 001 LSB.
ROM programs (BankSet R2) are numbered from 000 to 059; Bank Select is 002 LSB.
ROM programs (BankSet R3) are also numbered from 000 to 059; Bank Select is 003 LSB.
ROM programs (BankSet R4) are also numbered from 000 to 059; Bank Select is 004 LSB.
Sampled Sounds* (BankSet S8) are numbered from 000 to 009; Bank Select is 008 LSB.
Sampled Sounds* (BankSet S9) are also numbered from 000 to 009; Bank Select is 009 LSB.
Refer to Section 3 — MIDI Control Page Parameters for more information on how the TS-10 receives
program changes.
Press the Track Effects button to get to the Effects Bus Routing page:
Effects Bus Routing Page Range: VOICE, -FX1-, -FX2-, -DRY-, or -AUX-
On the Effects Bus Routing page, you can re-route the voices for each track without editing the
sound itself. This may be useful when two sounds are split or layered, and the effect is not
appropriate for both. Also this is used to assign a track to the AUX Outputs for separate
processing or mixing. The available Effects Bus Routing options are:
VOICE — uses the normal voice routing from the sound on the track
FX1 — forces all voices to FX1
FX2 — forces all voices to FX2
DRY — forces all voices in a track to the DRY bus
AUX — This bypasses the effects on all voices in a track, and allows you to process them
separately by sending them directly to the AUX Outputs. Any track that has -AUX- selected
will not be heard out of the Main outputs.
